The Situation

Southwesterlies over the country ease today as a narrow ridge develops over the North Island. The ridge retreats to the South Island on Tuesday while a complex low moves over the upper North Island from the west. The low drifts to the east of the country on Wednesday, followed by a ridge. A front moves up the eastern areas of the South Island on Thursday and the North Island on Friday, followed by a high from the south.
