The Situation

A ridge persists over the South Island. Strong southeasterlies affect much of the North Island over the weekend as a complex low pressure system to the northeast of New Zealand moves slowly southeastwards.A weak front moves up the South Island on Monday followed by a ridge from Tuesday onwards.
