The Situation

A front moves across the South Island today, while a warm and unstable northerly flow affects the North Island. A low is expected to develop northeast of the North Island tomorrow. Meanwhile, a weak front moves across the lower South Island.The low is forecast to deepen and become slow-moving near the eastern North Island on Sunday and Monday, directing a strong southerly flow over northern and central New Zealand. The low then slowly starts to weaken and moving slowly south Tuesday.
