A ridge of high pressure covers the North Island, as a weak front moves up the South Island today, and another ridge builds behind it. The front moves back down across the South Island tomorrow.On Sunday a ridge lies over the North Island but an active front moves northeast over the south of the South Island. The front weakens over the upper South Island on Monday while ridges cover the North Island and the south of the South Island. On Tuesday a front approaches the South Island from the southwest while the ridge persists over the North Island.
