The Situation

A strong west to southwest flow over Aotearoa/New Zealand eases today, as a deep low continues to move away east of the North Island. A front preceded by strong northwesterlies approaches the far south tomorrow.A front spreads up the South Island on Saturday, while a ridge remains over the North Island. The front weakens as it spreads onto the North Island on Sunday, while a ridge of high pressure returns to the South Island.
