The Situation

Meanwhile another front approaches the far south of the country today, then moves north over the South Island and onto the lower North Island tomorrow.During Sunday, the low moves slowly away to the east of the North Island, leaving strong southerlies over central and northern New Zealand. On Monday, a south to southwest flow covers New Zealand, strong over the North Island at first. On Tuesday, a ridge of high pressure extends onto western New Zealand.
