The Situation
A tropical low sinks southeast and onto the far north late today, while a ridge over the South Island moves away to the east. The low and its associated trough moves southeast over the rest of the country tomorrow.A cool southwest flow spreads onto New Zealand behind the low and trough during Friday and Saturday, and the trough moves over to the Chatham Islands. The trough moves away to the east on Sunday and the flow turns westerly.
