The Situation

A front crosses the North Island today, followed by a westerly flow over the country. A trough approaches the upper North Island later Saturday, while another front sweeps past the far south. Northwest flow strengthens on Sunday as the next front approaches the country from the west. This front becoming slow moving near central New Zealand Monday.
