A ridge of high pressure slowly drifts out to the east today, while a large trough approaches the country from the west. The trough then moves over the country tomorrow, crossing the South Island during the second half of the day.The large trough moves over the rest of the country on Tuesday and is followed by a disturbed northwest flow, while another front pushes onto the southwest of the South Island during the second half of Tuesday. The front moves northwards across country on Wednesday and Thursday, while a second front moves up the South Island on Thursday.
