Storm warning in effect for Puysegur

Gale warning in effect for Cook, Castlepoint, Milford and Conway

The Situation

A front travels over the North Island today, as a low centre and associated cold front approach the South Island from the southwest. The low moves eastwards on Monday, while its active cold front sweeps northeast over the country. This leaves a showery southwest flow over New Zealand on Tuesday, easing as a ridge of high pressure develops over the country on Wednesday.
